Paying homage to the original Mercedes Roadster, a group of Mercedes design students have came up with this electric roadster concept for the 21st century

Paying homage to the original Mercedes Roadster, a group of Mercedes design students have came up with this electric roadster concept for the 21st century. The most striking feature of the new design is the 19th century buggy-influenced wheels. In this case form has function as the wheels’ frontal profile act as a streamliner providing much less wind resistance than a conventional wheel and tire combo.

While the roadster’s top speed of only 15MPH leaves something to be desired, its range of over 200 miles per charge is mighty impressive. Another unique feature of the car is it control systems. The car is controlled by a single XY joystick and it definitely brings back memories of a certain movie starring Tom Cruise as a cop in the future. For more info on the car check out TreeHugger

Growing up in west Georgia, I have a vast knowledge of vintage trailer homes. Apparently they don’t build’em like I remember.
This conceptualized, designed, and built over the course of two years all by a group of 3 professors and 50 students of architecture. This project was actually constructed out a of vintage trailer’s guts, proving that the high life is achievable for all types of men and women. The trail features a nice open floor-plan and raised ceilings. It surprisingly looks much bigger on the inside than it should. For more info (including pictures of the original trailer) check out TrailerWrap.

This blast from the past from Wilkerson Furniture is the M21 Flat Screen console television.

The piece combines a state of the art flat screen television with organic woods and leathers to create a modern classic television. Modern classics do have their price and the M21 is no different. The TV comes in at a hefty $3,600, but is perhaps the coolest set out there. This is something straight out of the Jetsons. For more info see Wilkerson Furniture

This is an art deco custom computer case built by Dave Benz back in 2004. The computer features a mini ITX motherboard, 40 gig laptop hard drive, and is designed as a virtually noiseless machine.

To keep an authentic art deco feel, Benz used vintage fabric on the case covers and replicated an old neon sign with clever use of some plastic PVC tubing. To top off the look he added wooden legs to the bottom machine. Speaking on the bottom, the design cleverly hides all the wired connections on the underside of the machine. For more info on the Art Deco Box, check out Mini-ITX

Danelectro has released this new reissue of the classic Coral Hornet guitar you may remember from the classic 1960s Sear and Roebucks catalogs.

Danelectro guitars have been played by some of rock and roll’s greatest guitarists including Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones and Pete Townshend of the who. This git-fiddle features Danelectro’s signature lipstick pickups, an adjustable rosewood bridge, nickel hardware, matt finishes, and adjustable truss rod from the headstock. The guitar lists for $399 US which is a pretty good value in today’s world of $2000+ Les Pauls. More info about Danelectro and the “Dead On 67″ guitar can be found HERE.
